I am a Rei Kawakubo and Comme des Garçons fan, and especially I admire her design ideologies. Seeing her and the collection live was an unique experience. The “Neither Man Nor Woman” is a gender-free collection that has drawn its concept from a muse-mix of a romantic-Victorian-boy-gone-punk. Besides the classic polka dots of CdG the collection had stripes, roses, tartan and astrological symbols in its designs. The show was located in Le Couvent des Cordeliers – A former convent also involved in French Revolution turned to school of medicine. The old space was now filled up with a noise-like, dark and echoing soundtrack in a dramatic lighting.
