I used to be a frequent reader of WAD Magazine some years ago, but then I got frustrated that there were so many bad brands featured. Now when I was traveling back from Paris I ended up buying the newest WAD as there were no other good options. I can only say that I was extremely positively surprised – The magazine featured interesting upcoming brands, designer introductions & interesting editorials. Here are some of my favorites from the mag.

Last week’s impulse purchases.

First I found a black real leather baseball cap – Inspired by Givenchy’s Pre-Fall 2012 collection – and then I found Denham’s tapered “Motion CRR CA” camo cargos on sale. I have been looking for a new pair of camo cargos which would go with all shoes as my Sophnet ones are cropped – “The Motion is a relaxed cargo style inspired equally by an M42 paratrooper pant and a Dutch army trouser.”

Here are three + one great sets that I have been listening on repeat recently.

Kolos Live Set – Unknown dj/artist from Mühle, Germany – Definitely one of the best deep/dark house sets I have heard. Only unreleased tracks.

Sebastian Schlepp Geist Live Set – An enchanting minimal set which contains many tracks produced by the Berliner dj/producer himself.

RECAP: MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA F/W 12 SHOW AT PARIS MENS FASHION WEEK.

The house of Maison Martin Margiela is well known for taking arguable approaches which are well received. The Fall-Winter 2012 collection was about black, camel/camel hair and plastic/recycling bags. The more avant-garde pieces are from the Replica line which reproduces vintage garments. Even though on the first sight the whole could be been seen as declamatory, by closer looks majority of the pieces are fine produced ready-to-wear items. The show was also located in Le Couvent des Cordeliers – Where the day before Comme des Garçons show took place. This time the room was very dark, in the middle of the space were key pieces exhibited and the models walked around the room along the walls..

MY NEW GIVENCHY ZIP DETAIL WOOL SWEATER // F/W 2011.

A couple days ago I received this MR PORTER suit bag. Inside was my best sales find, the Zip Detail Wool Sweater from Givenchy’s F/W 2011 collection. A piece that I have dreamed of, but never thought of actually getting it.

The black heavyweight wool sweater has on it shoulders and down both sides chunky metal zippers. In addition I like particularly the thick ribbed collar, cuffs and hem, and the oversized fit.

Givenchy’s signature cross-stitching in the back.

Recently I previewed one of my outfits from Paris – Now here are more detailed photos. I become even more inspired of the shirt tied around the waist -style when I realized that you can tie it under a sweater/hoodie. At the moment I prefer to keep the tied shirt open to get a semi-draped-tail-look.

I realized last weekend that recently I have become inspired several times by products that have mesh-overlay. After further research I recalled that many designers used it or a similar approach in their women’s Spring-Summer 2012 collections. Inspired by these photos I am looking for the perfect product for myself.

RECAP: COMME des GARÇONS F/W 12 SHOW AT PARIS MENS FASHION WEEK.

I am a Rei Kawakubo and Comme des Garçons fan, and especially I admire her design ideologies. Seeing her and the collection live was an unique experience. The “Neither Man Nor Woman” is a gender-free collection that has drawn its concept from a muse-mix of a romantic-Victorian-boy-gone-punk. Besides the classic polka dots of CdG the collection had stripes, roses, tartan and astrological symbols in its designs. The show was located in Le Couvent des Cordeliers – A former convent also involved in French Revolution turned to school of medicine. The old space was now filled up with a noise-like, dark and echoing soundtrack in a dramatic lighting.
